The search had been long and tiring. Mostly on marked trails but in pretty steep terrain. And the day was hot. My younger partner and I set off from the trailhead at Gulf Hagas dubbed the Grand Canyon of Maine with many beautiful vistas. The hike is roughly 9 miles in total.
